Workshop on Good Pharmacy Practice @ Mahabubnagar, T.S



National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad in coordination with Drugs Control Administration (DCA), Telangana State have conducted second module of one day workshop on “Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)” with an underlying theme of continuing professional development for working pharmacists (community & hospital) at S.V.S. Medical College & Hospital, Mahabubnagar, Telangana on 18th September 2018. The workshop was supported by Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, under Pharmaceutical Promotion & Development Scheme (PPDS) with an aim to impart training and professional development to working pharmacists.




The workshop was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp. Dr. V. Prabhakar Reddy, Principal, College of Pharmacy, Palamur University was the Chief Guest for the function. Other dignitaries present at the function include Dr Shashi Bala Singh, Director NIPER-Hyderabad, Dr. Rajavardhana Chary, Assistant Director, DCA, Mahabubnagar, Dr. Ram Reddy, Director, S.V.S. Medical College & Hospital, Mahabubnagar, Dr G. Chandraiah and Dr. S. Gananadhamu, NIPER-Hyderabad, the conveners of the workshop.

The faculty from NIPER-Hyderabad (Dr CH. Naveen and Dr N. Sateesh Kumar) and Drugs Control Administration (Mr M. Aravind Reddy, Ms G. Indira Priyadarshini and Mr G. Srikanth) were the resource persons for this programme. The lectures emphasized on the various aspects of Good Pharmacy practice including SOPs, Drug-Drug and Drug-Food interactions, Prescription and dispensing errors. There was a panel discussion on recent developments in pharmacy profession.




The workshop received overwhelming response and about 350 participants consisting of drugs inspectors, registered pharmacists, community pharmacists and faculty from nearby pharmacy and medical colleges.
